· Silkosia - area 396.5 ha, situated near the village of Kosti. It is the first reserve in Bulgaria established in1933. 260 types of plants can be found in Silkosia.
· Uzunbudzhak - area 2481.5 ha, situated near the village of Slivarovo. This is the largest and most representative Bulgarian reserve regarding biosphere. The largest and oldest Strandja beech and beech-and-oak forests can be found here.
· Vitanovo - area 607.8 ha, comparatively high altitude (650 m). High conservation value. Holds 462 types of higher plants including 26 tertiary relicts and 9 Balkan endemites. Some of the most interesting Strandja caves are concentrated in this reserve.
· Sredoka - 607.8 ha, situated in the area of Malko Tarnovo and Stoilovo.
· Tissovitza - 749.3 ha in the area of the village of Bulgari. This is the newest resrve established in the Strandja mountain (1990) with the goal to preserve the beech-tree formations and the durmast formation with evergreen bushes. |
